Reflect on your current instruction and assessment practices through reflective pause and imagination. This collaborative workshop provides opportunities to connect around instruction and assessment approaches. While much assessment revolves around demonstrating value quantitatively, we resist by framing assessment as a way to connect with students and express care. The presenters will introduce an observational assessment framework participants can utilize to iterate on assessment methods and artifacts. Participants will reflect on their chosen lesson plan, identify areas for improvement, and consider how to improve their instruction. Participants will: 1. Use a reflective framework to redesign a lesson plan and identify areas for actionable assessment 2. Reframe assessment from a perspective of care utilizing the PCPS framework for empathetic reflection
